A Korean pavilion was part of the exhibition at NLSDays 2025 for the very first time. We caught up with one of the representatives to gauge her impressions of the conference.

Hyun Sook Park, a first time delegate to NLSDays and a member of the delegation found NLSDays unique compared to other conferences.

“I’ve attended Bio Japan, Bio USA, and several other exhibitions, but this one is quite unique. It’s very easy to meet many people here. I’m quite happy, it’s very convenient, and the people are very friendly. I’m really enjoying it”, she said.

It’s not only about building a commercial network; there’s something more than that.

She was able to conduct several fruitful meetings with a host of actors, giving her insights into the Nordic market.

“I’ve learned a lot through my meetings here. It’s not only about building a commercial network; there’s something more than that. Through the meetings, I’ve learned about the market, the regulations, the general attitude, and the environment here. It’s been very, very useful.”

Interactive workshop

The Korean pavilion, consisting of eight companies was organized by CCCEI, ICCEI, KimCo, K-Bio Lab Hub, RMAF, CARM and Business Sweden.

The delegation was also part of the official program in the form of an interactive workshop titled: “K-Bio Innovation Seminar: Cross-Border Collaboration & ATMP Frontiers”. The seminar spotlighted Korea’s rapidly growing biopharma and advanced therapy ecosystem on a global stage.

The two-hour program brought together leading Korean pharmaceutical and biotech companies, startups, and investors to share insights, foster cross-border collaboration, and explore new business opportunities in the life sciences sector. The workshop was hosted by: Chungbuk Center for Creative Economy & Innovation (CCCEI), Incheon Center for Creative Economy & Innovation (ICCEI), Korea Innovative Medicines Consortium (KIMCo), K-Bio Lab Hub, Regenerative Medicine Acceleration Foundation (RMAF), Council for Advanced Regenerative Medicine (CARM) and Business Sweden.

Hyun Sook Park says she would like to join NLSDays again in the future if given the opportunity. Part of the lure is that she finds Swedes and Koreans have something important in common.

“I have visited Sweden before but this is my first time attending a business-oriented event here. What impressed me is that Swedish people seem very down to earth, straightforward, and honest. They’re great to work with, it’s a very good business environment. And I think you share similar working ethics with Koreans, we both work very hard”.
